Elevated Concrete Decks & Limestone Walls in New Braunfels & Comal County

Dock-grade construction for homes, ranch properties, and hillside lots across Comal County.

Dock-Grade Construction for New Braunfels Properties

New Braunfels and greater Comal County sit on classic Hill Country terrain — rolling limestone hills, shallow soil over rock, dramatic grade changes, and seasonal drainage challenges. These are the same conditions that make traditional slab-on-grade patios difficult and wood decks a short-term solution.

Wulfhe Outdoor Living builds elevated concrete decks using the same steel-pipe-piling construction our sister company, Waterfront Unlimited, uses for waterfront docks on the Guadalupe River. Steel pilings handle the rock and grade changes. The elevated concrete slab sits above the terrain rather than fighting it. The result is a permanent, fireproof, maintenance-free outdoor living space that works with Hill Country topography instead of against it.

Our construction yard is located in New Braunfels, making Comal County our home territory. We know the soil, we know the terrain, we know the permitting process, and we know what Hill Country property owners expect.

What We Build in Comal County

Two core services, both using marine-grade construction.

Why Hill Country Properties Need Different Construction

Most patio and deck builders in the New Braunfels area offer two options: a concrete slab poured directly on grade, or a wood/composite deck on post footings. Both have significant limitations on Hill Country terrain.

Slab-on-grade patios require relatively flat, stable ground with adequate drainage. On a sloped Comal County lot with shallow soil over limestone rock, a slab-on-grade patio either requires extensive excavation and fill work (expensive and prone to settling) or simply isn’t feasible.

Wood and composite decks can be elevated, but they come with 10–25 year lifespans, ongoing maintenance, fire vulnerability during Hill Country wildfire seasons, and susceptibility to the extreme UV and heat that characterize Central Texas summers.

Dock-grade concrete decks solve both problems. Steel pipe pilings are set into the ground at whatever depth the terrain requires — through soil, into rock, across grade changes. The elevated concrete slab is fireproof, maintenance-free, and built to last 30–50 years. It’s the same construction that survives Guadalupe River floods, applied to a lot that doesn’t even have water on it.
